  1. Open browser

  2. Type about:config in the address bar and press enter
    Auto scan

    Now you will see a warning window. You should click on I'll be careful, I Promise! button.


  3. Right click on browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
    Stop default virus scan on downloaded files


  4. Now click on Toggle to set the value false.

    Now onwards it will not scan downloaded documents for malware infection. It is important to make sure your PC has a reputed reliable security suite which can detect and prevent any possible malware infections.     But why would you need to disable the auto virus scan? wouldn't it be threatening to your computer?

    In normal cases disable Auto scan in Firefox is a bad idea. If you are concerned about increasing the speed of your Firefox browser, you can disable this virus scan ( Assume your computer has another AntiVirus Program).
