Steps to Enable Run Command in Windows 7 Start Menu

I have installed Windows 7 on my desktop PC and it impressed me a lot. It has a very attractive interface and most importantly faster than Vista. Though I am happy with the performance and the interface, I really miss one of my favorite features from the Start menu. It is Run command and I use this feature very often. We all know the importance of RUN command in our daily computer usage but due to some mysterious reason, it is not available in Windows 7 Start. Though it doesn't hurt much because of the capability of Windows search to perform almost every task that run does, I really miss the Run. There is a way to bring back Run command in Windows 7 Start menu by activating it in Start menu properties. To learn more about it, follow the instructions provided below.



It is not very hard to bring this feature to the start items. All you have to do is to change the menu properties and customize it. You can simply do it by following the procedure provided below.

1. Right-click on the Windows 7 Start menu
   
   
   
2. Click on Properties
   
   
   
   Now the Properties Window will be opened.
   
   
   
3. Click on the Customize button
   
   Click on the Customize button under Start Menu tab. Now customization option window will be opened. Now we need to check Run Command checkbox in the customization window.
   
   
   
4. Click on OK.
   
   
   Now check the menu and see if you can see the result of your work.
   

You do not need to click on Windows button all time to get access to Run. There is a keyboard shortcut which brings this feature instantly. The keyword combination to open it in Windows 8 and 7 computer is given below.

[Microsoft] + [R]

You have to press Microsoft button and R key together at the same time on the keyboard.
